PinkDate & Escort Safety
PinkDate aims to be the Uber of escorting! The platform will be beneficial for escorts & clients regarding verification and bookings.
However, many have pointed out the risk factors associated with this new entity, and how PinkDate doesn't even acknowledge sex workers to begin with.
Maybe PinkDate is creating a safe space for escorts & clients, or maybe they're just deceiving the community for their own financial gain.
Anonymity, encryption & cryptocurrency will be the main force of PinkDate. It will also be able to be accessed worldwide even in countries where sex work is illegal.
Business Issues > Safety Issues
The owners behind this innovation are anonymous.
Sarah Stevens was the President, and it was rumored that she stepped down to her own safety.
However, Stevens has stated herself numerous times, that she left the company because of their worrisome marketing plan of their advertising portal.
The company's original founders, and the location of the company's headquarters are still nowhere to be found.
We can Be Secretive, But Not Y'all
PinkDate is all anonymous, but they want their users to hand over personal information such as government issued IDs. PinkDate also wants their escorts to have active social media accounts as well, preferably Twitter.
Strangers On the Internet
Escorts have to risk being outed and other personal privacy situations. Now, if they want to try PinkDate, they have to now trust an anonymous team of strangers with their sensitive info?
The Slow, Slow Downside of Anonymous Teams
Anonymity of the Early 2000's
Basically, running an anonymous team & an anonymous communication channel for escorts/clients on their platform, is going to be much slower due to some technicalities.
Basic Communication Is Slower
The anonymous team's basic communication channels would be much slower due to lack of tools, so having an entire anonymous team is going to have major setbacks due to time consumption; furthermore, these channels would also impact the escort/client communication via PinkDate's system.
Security, Convenience, Safety
PinkDate Client Verification
PinkDate says they will screen & verify their clientele just as their escorts, but the escorts know they're lying.
PinkDate lack of awareness of the escorts contacting them for help & such, but PinkDate just ignores them.
Now, they just seem to present false promises to the sex work community with claims of client verification and such.
PinkDate is not a legal entity. They're operating as an ICO token company. They're currently receiving more than $1 million in crypto tokens through their offerings.
No Screen, Give Token
Stevens has said that PinkDate does not have a screening process for their token system. A spokesperson for PinkDate later confirmed her statement.
highly illegal Crypto
Rivals of another crypto fueled escorting platform, Lovr, had their own opinions about PinkDate's lack of medical check-ups for their escorts & clients. Lovr stated that PinkDate's approach is unethical and highly illegal even in areas where escorting is legal.
Medically Legal Requirements
Platforms that are catered for escorts & clients are required to inform their users of regular medical check-ups, and enforce that the users get them performed!
The Money Hungry & Escorts
Another area of concern for sex workers was PinkDate's payout system since the company is taking a good amount of their own earnings.
I was excited in the initial beginning of this escort/client app. My colleagues were boasting about the app, how awesome it was dedicated ot us escorts/clients to meet up quicker & safer, Sarah Stevens being an ex-sex worker, etc.
Don't treat your costumers like they're useless. Actually show support for the community that you're basing your product, service, etc on.
2018 - the Year of the Sex Worker
The passing of FOSTA, shutdown of Backpage, and other digital dilemmas within the escort realm have shown escorts that they need more sex worker created platforms and sex worker friendly platforms.
Sex Worker Made, Sex Worker Friendly Websites
Progressive Digital Sex Work
The shutdowns spanned many new websites that are either created by sex workers themselves, sex worker friendly or both!
Now, with more sex workers having a bit more control in their own industry via advertising, they're generally more aware of, and even wary of new websites popping up and proclaiming their neverending love for sex workers.
Cut the bullshit.
